Connecting with Nature and the Subconscious Mind: A Journey of Self-Discovery

Today, I decided to mow the lawn barefoot. I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to connect with nature and tap into my spirituality. There’s something profound about feeling the earth beneath your feet, grounding yourself in the moment, and allowing your mind to wander freely. As I pushed the mower along, I found myself reflecting on our subconscious mind and how it manifests in our everyday lives.

One intriguing thought that struck me was how, when driving, we can often become lost in thought, reminiscing about distant memories, while our subconscious mind takes over the task of navigating the road safely. Despite our conscious mind being elsewhere, our subconscious ensures that we stay on course and don’t miss our exit. This realization led me to ponder the nature of our subconscious and its profound influence on our actions.

I began to wonder about this part of us that operates seamlessly in the background while our conscious mind is distracted. How do we experience it, and can we describe it? I soon realized that the moment we try to bring our subconscious experience into our awareness, it transitions into a conscious effort, no longer retaining its subconscious essence.

This insight led me to a deeper understanding: if we can’t describe something, it might be our truest self. Imagine if we never had a mirror or anyone to reflect back who we are—how would we describe ourselves? The part of me that drives the car while I’m lost in thought must be my true self. This part of me keeps me and others safe, mindful of exits, and aware of the greater good, even when my conscious mind is preoccupied.

As I continued mowing the lawn, I noticed something remarkable. I instinctively avoided potholes and obstacles without consciously thinking about it. This subconscious part of me knew exactly where to step to ensure my safety. It was as if this part of me had an innate awareness of my surroundings and guided me effortlessly.

Reflecting on this experience, I realized that the qualities embodied by this subconscious self are truly admirable. This part of me is courageous, confident, connected, compassionate, and caring. It acts with an unwavering sense of purpose and mindfulness, always prioritizing the well-being of myself and those around me. This, I believe, is who I truly am. This is my Soul.

In a world where we often seek external validation and descriptions of who we are, it’s essential to recognize and honor the parts of ourselves that operate beyond conscious awareness. These subconscious aspects of our being are powerful, guiding us with wisdom and intuition that we may not always fully understand.

As I wrapped up my lawn-mowing session, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for this moment of connection with nature and my inner self. It was a reminder that sometimes, the most profound insights come when we least expect them, and the truest parts of ourselves are revealed in the simplest of actions.

So, the next time you find yourself lost in thought while driving or instinctively avoiding obstacles in your path, take a moment to appreciate the incredible capabilities of your subconscious mind. Embrace the qualities it embodies, for they are a reflection of your true self—a self that is courageous, confident, connected, compassionate, and caring. This is the essence of who you are. This is your Soul.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of self-discovery. I encourage you to take time to connect with your inner self and explore the profound depths of your subconscious mind. You might be surprised by the wisdom and insights that await you.
